One open heart per person, linked side by side along the chain, each with that person's birthstone set into it and their name engraved underneath. Start with one heart and add up to six.
Every heart is the same 15 mm wide and 13 mm tall, cut clean through in the middle, with a round simulated birthstone in a rub-over bezel sitting in the upper part and the name engraved along the lower band. Short polished bars join one heart to the next, so the row curves with the chain and lies flat against the collarbone. One heart reads as a delicate everyday pendant; six make a proper family piece that spans the front of the neckline. The chain is 46.5 cm with two extender sections adding 2.5 cm each.

How the engraving works: type each name at checkout exactly as you want it cut - spelling and capitals are copied straight through to the laser. Add the hearts in order: pick Stone 2 before Stone 3, and so on. Leave a name blank and that heart keeps its stone with a plain polished band.
